Membership Fees

Members are the companies and individuals who are liable for membership fees.
We only count them as Members if they are financial.

When you open a Member record and tick any one of the Memberships there are five fields to complete.

  1. Membership Commenced.
This is the date when the member first started that specific membership.
  2. Subscription.
The amount they will be billed (excluding GST) each time their membership is renewed.
  3. Membership Term.
Can be annual/monthly/quarterly. At the conclusion of their term their membership will be up for renewal (and a new invoice raised).
  4. Subscription renewal.
The most recent date their membership subscription was renewed.
  5. Subscription Expiry.
The date their current membership subscription is due to expire.
There are pre-set default settings for each membership type (see Settings).

Fees

The Membership Fee is the GST-exclusive amount the member will be invoiced when their current membership subscription expires.

The membership fee can be adjusted on a per-member basis simply by over-typing. This fee will apply when the next membership invoice is raised.
Existing membership invoices cannot be adjusted.

Further, any other changes to the membership settings will likewise apply when the membership is next renewed.

Should your organisation have non-financial (zero-rated) members (lifetime memberships perhaps?), you will set up a membership type with a zero-dollar membership fee. They will still be counted as financial members, only their membership fees will be $0.

Prorated Fees

When a member joins part-way through the membership term you will want to pro-rata their initial membership subscription fees.

Simply over-type the subscription amount and adjust the subscription expiration date before raising the first invoice.
